The role of the Senior Developer is three-fold: the first is to act as a senior programmer within their given technology when working on a project, second is to assist and support the other roles that this person may work with to understand the technical and implementation related issues and help resolve them, finally it is the responsibility of this role to assist the Technical Architect in determining the technical solution and communicating the solution to the wider team.
Acting as a senior programmer, the responsibility of the role is to ensure that the correct software development processes are followed, both by themselves and by any developers that may work in the team.
