Part of the Sony group. This is a North West studio and is the heart of the famous Psygnosis division.We now seek localisation professionals who MUST BE FLUENT in either French, German, Spanish or Italian. The roles encompass:

Occasionally providing translations for games and for SCEE Special Projects and assisting in the translation work for the packaging text for consoles and peripherals as well as for the Authorised Names for PlayStation components.

Proofreading and correcting translations provided by external companies for our software products to ensure that quality, accuracy and consistency are maintained throughout the files, the game and the manual.

Please do not apply if you do not have the requisite language skills.

Testing software once the localised text has been implemented in-game and provide detailed reports about any language issues that might occur. Recent projects include Dropship, Jak & Daxter, Vampire Night, Ace Combat 4, FFX and WipEout Fusion.

Italian Speaking Localisation Tester

Currently they are looking for a Localisation Tester to work on software products throughout the QA test phase. You will be responsible for proof-reading and correcting translations provided by external companies for software product. Ensure that quality, accuracy and consistency is maintained throughout files, games and manuals.
Testing of software once localised text has been implemented in games and to report all language bugs found during the beta phase in a clear, concise and effective manner. Team orientated with attention to detail and a flexible approach to work, plus the ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines. You should be fluency in English and Italian, with a good knowledge of computer games across multiple platforms, in addition to a working knowledge of WORD, EXCEL and ACCESS. Some experience of working in a translation team is desirable, but not essential, as full training will be given.

They are working with a variety of platforms that utilise digital communications technology, including set-top boxes, web browsers and mobile phones.They currently require an experienced level designer. The ideal candidate will have at least completed one AAA project as Lead Tester and/or Lead level designer (must be verifiable). You should have working knowledge of Renderware if possible and you must be well versed in time management and be able to prioritise your workload. Lead Designer

Candidates must have excellent communication skills, and be capable of working under pressure and maintain objective, positive and proactive communication with project team, leads, senior management and the publisher.

Candidates will be expected to accurately estimate timescales for all work done by themselves and junior staff, be responsible for the management of design team project tasks and be responsible for the delivery of project milestones schedule. Candidates will also be required to provide mentoring and training to junior staff.

Candidates must have experience of leading a design team on several projects, one of which must have been a first person shooter or similar (3rd person shooter). Experience using the Unreal editor or similar would be an advantage.

The candidate will work on their current project (Project Alpha), a tactical
squad-based shooter that innovates regarding the emotional involvement of
the player and constitutes the conceptual continuation of OUTCAST. This
project has currently reached the end of pre-production and the full
production is about to start.
