The role of Lead Test Engineer is to ensure that the software works successfully across a number of operating systems and development environments and a broad range of smartphone and tablet devices. You will be responsible for testing games localised for Japanese players and for ensuring the quality of all translations for the Japanese community. 

Skills & experience required:

• Fluent in Japanese to a native level.
• 2 yeas experience as a QA Tester or similar. (Could be technical experience combined with a deep knowledge of the company's games).  
• At least 1 year's experience translating English text to Japanese (or related work)
• A high degree of skill in troubleshooting, characterising and describing software defects.
• Good communication & documentation skills in English
• The ability to work independently, while still being part of the team.

The successful candidate will have extensive experience developing specialised technical documentation. They will be required to work closely with the dev teams to understand new product features and document them clearly. They will also evolve the style and scope of the documentation, work with outside parties in the translation into additional languages, provide marketing materials for trade shows etc and develop tutorial material to compliment the documentation.

Applicants must have at least three years experience working as a technical author for a software product. Experience of documenting API / SDK applications would be advantageous and experience of the games or graphics industry a huge plus.

Our client is a leader in the distribution of multi-platform games. Their eCommerce platform supports over 200 different sites   They are transitioning to the ATG Commerce platform and have an opening for a world class Senior Test Engineer with a track record of testing consumer facing eCommerce systems. Ideally the candidate will have ATG experience but training will be provided where appropriate.

Qualifications and Experience:
- BS degree in Computer Science/Software Engineering or equivalent technical degree required
- 4+ years of Testing experience
-  ISEB / ISTQB Foundation level is of advantage
-  Ideally will have experience with ATG including Commerce, Merchandising, and the Data Anywhere Architecture
-  Experience of systems integration testing (e.g. SSO, billing, email, analytics, advertising, social networking, etc)
- Knowledge of software Testing best practices including agile, continuous integration, automated testing, and configuration management
- Strong analytical, problem solving, and operational/production diagnostic skills
-  In-depth knowledge of Web architecture is a must
-  Demonstrated knowledge of: relational databases usage and testing; HTML, JavaScript, relational databases usage and testing; software testing models and methodologies; automation testing techniques and tools.
